Gorse Shieldbug

Gorse Shieldbug
I am pretty sure this is a Gorse Shieldbug (the species look very similar) so, assuming it is.. it has two adult colour forms which are related to sexual maturity. Those emerging and mating in the spring are predominantly green, whereas the new generation appearing in the late summer have purple-red markings on the pronotum and corium. Seen at Hole Park, Kent.

A study in Kato #4
Baking hot day. Mum and Dad came up to meet Kato. He slept for pretty much the full length of their visit. Went for a coffee, came back, played with Kato. He slept. I slept. He got in the washing machine. Not a bad Easter Saturday all in all.
