Gorse Shieldbug

Gorse Shieldbug
I am pretty sure this is a Gorse Shieldbug (the species look very similar) so, assuming it is.. it has two adult colour forms which are related to sexual maturity. Those emerging and mating in the spring are predominantly green, whereas the new generation appearing in the late summer have purple-red markings on the pronotum and corium. Seen at Hole Park, Kent.

This is a beautiful picture. Have you ever thought of showing your work on Deviant Art? If you haven’t already. :)
