Brooks GLYCERIN 9

All this pavement pounding is taking its toll on my feet and as Domino decided to attack my current running shoes in the night and tear a hole in them, I decided it was time to get a decent upgrade. I also wanted to get some Vegan shoes. After some research I settled on Brrooks, Mizuno or Asics and visited Sweatshop in Maidstone to try some out. I even got on the treadmill to check out my gait and pronation – if you are going to run, get the right shoes! They gave me some great advice and were open and honest about which choice of shoe would suit my build and needs. I understand now the difference between a ‘pretend sports shop’ like Sports Direct where the advice consists of which colour variation you might want, as opposed to putting you on a treadmill and examining your stride etc.

I tried a couple of pairs of each brand, but the Brooks stood out by a country mile. They feel solid, yet comfortable… not cheap, but I can get another pair for £25 with their current offer (available until 18th March 2012) so I figured that  was a pretty sweet deal.

Anyway… my new babies, the Brooks Glycerin 9.
