Poppy
If you need an explanantion of Remembrance Day I doubt you will be interested in what it is about so don\’t bother. I expect it will be phased out in the next couple of decades as all the survivors from WWII will be gone.
Marmalade
One of my favourite insects – the Marmalade Fly (Episyrphus balteatus), or hoverfly to most. Like most other hoverflies, Episyrphus balteatus is a Batesian mimic – harmless but closely resembling a dangerous or distasteful model – in this case having the appearance of a solitary wasp. It is just one of a large number of hoverflies (family Syrphidae) with narrow bodies, and with abdomens barred with black and yellow, though in this case the yellow tends towards orange.
Wash
A bit of the beach at Lower Sandgate Road, Sandgate.
Happy Accident
Usually if I click the shutter at the wrong time I hate the result, but with a 30 second exposure it can sometimes turn out Ok. Whilst shooting some fireworks I clcicked and then walked away carrying the cam and this was the result. I might even get this one printed… one day.
