Glastonbury Abbey
The Saxons, who had been converted to Christianity, conquered the ancient county of Somerset in the 7th Century. Their King was Ine of Wessex, who was widely regarded as one of the most important figures in the history of the Abbey. He was a local man who boosted the status and income of the Abbey, and it is said that he put up a stone church, the base of which forms the west end of the nave. Weird old place, Glastonbury.
Cat (Not Mine)
Next-door-but-one’s Cat. It seems to like me, but then, who doesn’t? I am very likeable as it goes.
Juvenile Common Field Grasshopper
Both the front and back lawns are hopping with these little buggers. Cute in the extreme!
TJ's Snack Bar
I am unable to confirm the standard of the food at TJ’s Snack bar, but I am fairly sure that it hasn’t won any Michelin Stars.
Mini Jumper
The zebra spider (Salticus scenicus) is a common household jumping spider. Like other jumping spiders, it does not build a web. It uses its four pairs of large eyes to locate prey and its jumping ability to pounce and capture it. Zebra spiders are often noted for their ‘curiosity’ when observed by humans; many seem aware of their audience and seem to respond to observation by raising their heads and studying the observer.
