THE SAINT MICHAEL CATHEDRAL

THE SAINT MICHAEL CATHEDRAL
This church is to be found at the Treurenberg hill on the edge between lower and upper town. Already at the beginning of the 11th century a church was situated here. In 1047 the Duke of Brabant, Lambert II, had the relics of Saint Gudula transferred from the Saint Gorik church in downtown Brussels to the new church at the Treurenberg hill. From that moment on the Saint Gudula and Saint Michael church took the lead over all the other churches in Brussels. Lambert II also gave the church a chapter of 12 canons (priests who took care of the services and possessions of the church). You never know when this might come up in a quiz.

Jesus Saves

Jesus Saves
This building fascinates me. Located in the centre of Folkestone, Kent, I see it every lunch as it is just behind the offices where I work. I have never seen anyone go in nor come out. Jesus may save, but here at least, he does it on the quiet.

More importrantly, this heralds a new era for this site as it will now contain photographs shot on film as well as digital. For my birthday I got a Holga. If you don\’t know what a Holga is, well Google it. It is bad… wicked even.

Designed by architect Frank Gehry, Walt Disney Concert Hall, new home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, is designed to be one of the most acoustically sophisticated concert halls in the world, providing both visual and aural intimacy for an unparalleled musical experience. To be honest, all I recall about seeing it was how tired and thirsty I was.

Bull(s)

Bull(s)
Bulls is a small town near the South Taranaki Bight of the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is situated in a thriving farming area in the Rangitikei District at the junction of State Highways 1 and 3 about 160 kilometres north of Wellington. It has a population (2001 census) of 1755. The town is named after James Bull, who founded the town and owned the first general store there.

This is just one of the many bull-related murals all over the town. The one on the police station is particularly good with a Sherlock Holmes bull :-)
